SCENT CHALLENGES WORKSHOP

THE SCENT CHALLENGES WORKSHOP will examine the many different scent pictures encountered in nose work searches at different trial levels. These all present challenges for both the handler and for the dog. Learn ways to help your dog become adept at solving different scent puzzles and learn how you as the handler can recognize these in blind searches and best support your dog so you’re working as a fluid team.

This seminar is appropriate for all levels of nose work teams on odor.  Searches and strategies will be tailored to the level of the working teams.

  • This is a 2 day workshop
  • Working spots are limited to 10 dog/ handler teams each day
  • Working teams will work one day and audit the other day allowing more participants to work with Leah
  • Limited to one dog per handler
  • Auditor/Observer spots are unlimited.  You may come one or both days.

Once all the working spots are filled a waitlist will be maintained.Participants who would like to be considered for a working spot must be willing to audit if they do not make the working list. We cannot take registrations from people who only want to work a dog in order to attend.  After the workings spots have been filled, a waitlist will be maintained of those willing to audit, that would like to be in line, in case a spot opens.  This is a two-day workshop and all participants wanting to be considered for a working spot will need to attend both days. All those registering for a working spot will pay the full 2-day working fee and if you do not make the working spot list, the difference between the working spot fee and the auditor fee will be refunded to you.  At that point you will remain on the waitlist as an auditor in line for a working spot. If a working spot opens and you are next on the list you will be contacted and given 24 hours to accept or decline the working spot and pay the additional amount.
