K9 Nose Work® Workshop
May 12 & 13, 2019
Dardenne Prairie, MO
Happy Dog Concepts is pleased to host a K9 Nose Work® workshop with Leah Gangelhoff, CNWI, Certifying Official, Judge and Senior Faculty Member with NACSW. We are very happy to have Leah come back and work with us!
Preparing Your Dog for Elite: What You Can Do Now
Given that the Elite Division of NACSW™ trials is relatively new, many of us did not know what we would be seeing in order to begin building certain skills into our dogs and ourselves as handlers. Now that we know, we can begin through thoughtful training to best prepare for Elite. We can also learn to avoid certain common, undesirable "issues" that can develop when trialing at Elite. It is important to understand this building process so that we do not over-face our dogs while working on these skills. This seminar will cover techniques that can help you develop a training plan to prepare your dog for what they will encounter in Elite Division trials.
Working spots in this seminar are suitable for ALL dogs with good odor obedience (meaning that the desire to get to target odor overrides the rest of the environment), no matter at what level they are currently trialing - NW1/NW2/NW3.
Suitable for auditors at any level.
This seminar is arranged so that day 2 follows day 1 in development of the team.
The price includes the seminar; coffee, water, soda, and light snacks will be provided to the attendees. Lunch is on your own and is NOT provided. Please plan to bring your lunch.
Registration will not be accepted without payment. A link to register and pay is provided below.
Once all the working spots are filled a waitlist will be maintained. Participants who would like to be considered for a working spot must be willing to audit if they do not make the working list. We cannot take registrations from people who only want to work a dog in order to attend. After the workings spots have been filled, a waitlist will be maintained of those willing to audit, that would like to be in line, in case a spot opens. This is a two-day workshop and all participants wanting to be considered for a working spot will need to attend both days. All those registering for a working spot will pay the full 2-day working fee and if you do not make the working spot list, the difference between the working spot fee and the auditor fee will be refunded to you. At that point you will remain on the waitlist as an auditor in line for a working spot. If a working spot opens and you are next on the list you will be contacted and given 24 hours to accept or decline the working spot and pay the additional amount.
All cancellations MUST be made in writing BY EMAIL ONLY to Erin Seely at firstname.lastname@example.org (no phone calls, texts, or other form or communication will serve as a valid cancellation). Your cancellation is not confirmed until you receive an email confirmation from Erin that it has been received. Any cancellations must be made before 11am CT on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. If notice of cancellation is received before the deadline a refund will be given, less a $50 non-refundable administration fee for a working spot or $20 per day for an audit/observer spot. If notice is not received before the deadline no refund will be given for any reason unless your spot can be filled by an appropriate similar level candidate on the wait list (the non-refundable administrative fee still applies).
Registration will open Monday, February 18 , 2019 at 11am CT and will close Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 11am CT. Registration is by online entry and payment will be processed through PayPal only. To register, click below.
